Rev. LEG - XVI Aquila between two signa. Babelon (Antonia) 126. Crawford 544/31. RBW -. Sydenham 1236. Faint scratch on the obverse and with minor flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

This otherwise unknown legion is not identical to Octavian's Legio XVI Gallica, which survived Actium until being disbanded after its defeat by the Batavians in 70 AD.
